Application method and requirements

Applying PercoTop PUR 2K MS Topcoat requires experience with a spray gun. The paint is a 2K product, which means a hardener is needed for the curing process. Depending on the desired application and conditions, different activators and thinners are available:

Drying times and processing

With a dry film thickness of 40 µm and an ambient temperature of 20°C, the drying times are as follows:

• Dust dry: 90 minutes
• Handleable: 4-8 hours
• Ready for assembly: 24-30 hours

For accelerated drying, forced drying can be applied with a flash-off time of 20 minutes and a drying time of 35 minutes at an object temperature of 60°C.

Surface preparation

Proper surface preparation is essential for optimal results. Make sure the substrate is free from all contaminants. Old paint layers should be thoroughly cleaned and sanded:

• Dry sanding with an eccentric sander and dust extraction: P320-P500
• Wet sanding with sandpaper: P600-P800

After sanding, carefully clean the surface again to remove dust and other impurities.
