An intermediate pad is specially designed to improve the distribution of pressure across the surface. This will improve the contact of the polishing sponge with the surface, from flat to curved surfaces. The intermediate pad is mounted between the Backing Plate of the polishing machine and the polishing sponge. Depending on the density of the intermediate pad, the polishing sponge will have a harder or softer contact with the surface.
