Vehicle compatibility
The SP TOOLS OBDII/EOBD fault code reader is designed for cars that comply with the OBDII standard. This includes:
- USA: All vehicles from 1996 onwards
- Europe: Petrol vehicles from 2001 and diesel vehicles from 2004
- Australia and New Zealand: All vehicles from 2006 onwards
Note: Not compatible with Japanese vehicles using the JOBD protocol.

- Read and clear generic and manufacturer-specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
- Turn off the check engine light
- Assess the status of OBDII monitors and emissions readiness
- Determine the status of the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)
